Greetings,

A short while ago, "No Parking" signs were posted on Anne Street. They are ugly but necessary. I would not have pushed the issue if the Brown's had not refused to observe the no parking near corner and had not kept a blaring radio going.

  1. Red Reflectors: I said that they had been considerate in their parking up to the incident when Mrs. Brown call a neighbor a "white bitch." The below image shows how when I replaced her muddy pathway with concrete and bushes I also attached  red reflectors on the fence (before and after the walkway) so they could easily park close, but not too close to block the walkway--the driver looks to right to see the red dot. You can see they don't use the reflectors for optimal, legal .parking as they once did.

This picture was taken in the last week. The left side of the tree behind the car is 20 foot from the corner. I have seen, thanks to their forwarning of a blaring radio heard a block away, Tanya Brown pull into park and then back up so part of the car was before the 20-foot mark.

    Reflector, pre-walkway

    Red reflector, post-walkway

On the above gate, you will note a lower horizontal handle below the vertical handle. I installed it so the children in Mrs. Brown's daycare could open the door. I also installed a spring to reduce wind-slamming and a chain so they could keep the door open when they were unloading groceries. I was and am a good neighbor to good neighbors.
  2. In the last week, illegal parking continued. Now, why would a visitor park so far from the gate? Your guess is as good as mine.
  3. Blaring Radio: Below is a photo taken 170519. The daughter drove up and parked the car leaving the door open for several minutes. She shashayed into the house doing the KMA booty-shake. Again, I would not have been concerned about the parking if they had not engaged in distracting, privacy-invading blaring radio stunts.

  4. The Brown's are not the only neighbor playing games with parking. On the other side, it is park as you want despite a police warning. Tickets are best--Can we have law-abiding citizens if we merely warn of the laws rather than enforce the laws? The trailer is gone, but the parking problem remains at 303 Bland.

  5. Of the trailer, I was glad it was gone not only because it was an eyesore, but it was a safety issue since it forced one-lane traffic 24/7. Now, it is an eyesore behind the house on Carson Street along with other trash. These young doctors care not about the neighborhood. They have the trailer hitch to take it to the dump which they have done in the past.

  6. Once again, I am not a racist because over four decades ago I realize that it was self-defeating igknowance that caused unhappiness rather than happiness for all involved. This a letter published last year in the Times-Dispatch.

  7. I have several youtube vids for my forthcoming political campaign attempt--see www.BarnettForCongress.com. In particular, view Chocolate, Caramel and Vanilla Americans. And, today, I am flying the South African flag in honor of Nelson Mandela, the human being with the greatest heart and soul who lived in the last century.
  8. One TV ad has to do with letting police be wrong rather than citizens being Right, Dead Right.
  9. Now, the bad news: The Browns are angry black women. As they have consistently pushed the envelope, I expect them to do it again. At the minimum, they are going to call you to complain. When the parking problem began over five years ago and I complained to the police, a black sedan with several bullet holes was parked in front of my porch door for a couple of weeks. Mid-afternoon, a man would come out the gate and walk around my house, stopping every few yards to scan my house. I started to carry my S&W Airweight until this stopped. Likewise, I am back to packing my piece on my property. I say this as a matter of self-protection against what the Brown's might do. Also, if a policeman confronted me on my property, I would ask him what he wanted me to with my backpocket pistol so as not to have a misunderstanding. Do I like living this way? No. A community resource person needs to tell the Browns that no good can come from their seeking ways "to get even." I regret that they are black since some will take my actions as racist though I have tried to throw the book at the 303 Bland vanilla docs. (I have a small claims date against them on June 16.)
  10. Now, the good news. My memorialized document trail of mistreatment is archived. I feel, as of this point, the RPD management has made up for "crowjimism" of individual police. I have no interest in suing the city since the problem seems to resolved. It was never about money. I have (until re-constructed as a teaching tool without reference to Richmond or RPD), deleted www.Crowjimism.com. I prefer to work with rather than work against.
  11. Is there an email address to which I can email photos of them parking despite the signs? Part of my elementary policing process is a combination of citizen arrests and red-light running cameras with on-line payment for ordinance/law/regulation violations.
  12. Mrs. Brown was talking to DPU crew as they were putting the sign behind their car. Later, she came out and put a brown bag in her trunk. Odd, never seen this before (again the noise, a slamming gate door on this windy day, prompted me to look up from my computer). I believe a patrol car each shift making a spot-check until the tickets drive home the law will be helpful.
Thank you, again. I hope this is the end of it. I look forward to working with you when www.24in4.com and elementary democracy gets legs. I'm still available for a cup of coffee.

P.S. A lot of keystrokes have gone into issue. Maybe I can make some lemonade from these lemons. I hope that I have the time to add it as vignette to my attempt at the Great American Novel.
