HMO Crimes HMO Horror Story. Managed health care thru HMO's is like the Holy Roman Empire which was not holy, not Roman and not an empire. Managed health care has nothing to do with management, health or care. Twenty years ago, the cost of medical care was providers, pharmaceuticals and facilities. Now the cost are those three items plus junk bonds and overpaid HMO bureaucrats. The care has declined as once entrepreneurial doctors become timeclock punchers. By using on-line democracy to list horror stories, the transition to a better system based on better democracy and capitalism will be facilitated.
