To find the truths of reality, a beginner must wade through a lot of academic and public political manure. Sadly for the budding physicist, he must wade through the prejudices and politics of the prior generations. Most drown in the intellectual excrement to become another tenured stinker. Lucky are the ones who tread on urine long enough to reach a new shore of understanding. Some abdicate from the cesspool to become apathetic bystanders. This describes not only academia but public politics.
